The Future of NHS Procurement – What it means for you
First of all, I’d like to pass on a massive thank you to all of those who attended the Future of NHS Procurement Event on Wednesday 11th December.
The opportunity to speak and mingle with some of the UK’s leading figures in NHS Procurement provided us with invaluable insight into the challenges you face, and ultimately, how our award-winning services can add true value to you and your business.
It was also great to speak with the Trusts who attended and allay some of the preconceived fears they had regarding PEPPOL. One of the common misconceptions is that systems linking to ERP providers require bespoke solutions which would lead to expensive integration costs – in reality, this couldn’t be further from the truth. We have the expertise and partnerships to work without third party support; in simple terms, all the hard work is done for you. Integration is seamless, as our interface links directly with APIs for almost all ERP providers.
One of the key themes we picked out from the day was that as Suppliers, you are invested, ready to go and want to collaborate. We know from our existing customers, that having end-to-end, real-time visibility to the supply chain network is a major benefit. After speaking to prospective customers who have viewed a demo of our new product interface, it is clear to see the obvious benefits Suppliers and Trusts alike will enjoy.
Based on our conversations with a large number of Suppliers, it is apparent that the main hurdle we need to overcome is buy-in from the Trusts. We want Trusts to listen to what the Suppliers are saying so that both sides can reap the rewards. We appreciate that there is an initial investment required from the Trust side, however, the long-term benefits far outweigh the short-term expenditure.
Today, over 400 Suppliers are live and using our Netix platform. We’ve helped them to remove the complexity of the Supply Chain through a fully automated and user-friendly digitised experience. Suppliers are already enjoying the benefits of minimising their IT reliance, providing automated onboarding and standardising communication, all whilst ensuring compliance. Our platform has two main components:
1 – an information hub that gathers and manages all relevant documents and other data sets. This hub provides connectivity, interoperability and data management through order acknowledgement, order response, delivery confirmation, invoices, credits and much more.
2 – value adding applications such as auto onboarding, alerting and archiving. This enables the NHS to automate and manage all of these corresponding processes.
To achieve a supply chain that provides end-to-end visibility frameworks is pivotal due to the fragmented, ever-evolving nature of the supply chain. Whereas we appreciate that PEPPOL is not the flavour of the month, it is worth noting the huge benefits it has on the supply chain eco system. At NetEDI, our framework helps to standardise, collaborate, reduce risk and automate the supply chain process. PEPPOL gives the health industry that framework, which is why we champion it so that everybody can co-exist within the supply chain.
