NetEDI is the largest NHS PEPPOL solution provider in the UK
Since the beginning, NetEDI set out to be an industry leader. We’re very proud to say that our focus on innovation and quality has made us the largest provider of NHS PEPPOL solutions in the UK. Not only that, but we’ve been selected by NHS Supply Chain as their PEPPOL Access Point provider.
What does this mean?
As part of the Department of Health’s Scan4Safety campaign, all NHS Trusts will soon be required to adhere to the PEPPOL standard of messaging. This means that all the messages exchanged between NHS Trusts and their suppliers must follow a single standard and be part of the approved PEPPOL network.
This focus on automation and uniformity will reduce human error, allow the NHS to track and trace products more easily and ultimately help medical professionals save lives and the NHS save money. Suppliers should also see a reduction in invoice queries and an improvement in purchase-to-pay timescales. In the standardised system, any order a supplier receives should match exactly with their own product description, reducing the likelihood of errors or queries. This should in turn, allow the supplier to match their invoice to the order exactly.
At NetEDI, we’ve always believed in the power of technology to improve people’s lives and that’s why it’s so exciting to be leading the way in PEPPOL implementation and be part of this significant transition.
Our work with NHS Supply Chain
The team at NetEDI is working hard on the NHS Supply Chain project and we’ve made great progress so far. Over the last year, NHS Supply Chain has increased their usage of the system dramatically and thousands of documents have been sent and received using the PEPPOL standard – 50,000 documents were exchanged in November alone.
We are also in the final stages of contacting all NHS Supply Chain’s suppliers and ensuring that they are ready to comply with the changes in the rules. So far, we’ve enabled NHS Supply Chain to exchange PEPPOL messages with over 260 of their suppliers.
For the suppliers that choose us as their PEPPOL solution provider, we’re here every step of the way to make sure that the transition is as smooth as possible. For instance, we use parallel orders, which means the PEPPOL system will work alongside their current system and produce their correct order data. This robust method of testing allows us to make sure all PEPPOL messages are being sent and received correctly and the supplier can move forward with confidence. Once the supplier is happy, we can turn the existing system off and they’ll be up and running on the PEPPOL network.
All NHS suppliers need a PEPPOL Access Point
If you’re a supplier for NHS Supply Chain or any NHS Trust, you must update your system and make sure you’re trading in compliance with the Department of Health’s PEPPOL requirements.
Apart from the important long-term benefits to our National Health Service, there are also clear benefits to any organisation when it comes to using this system. Automatic and compliant messaging means that errors are less likely to occur and if they do, they’ll be easier to put right.
At NetEDI, our focus is on making the transition as easy and cost-effective as possible for the suppliers that we work with. Unlike some of our competitors, we won’t charge you for each individual Trust that you add to your PEPPOL solution. Once you’ve paid for your PEPPOL solution, you’ll be able to add new Trusts at no extra cost.
If you’re looking for the right PEPPOL Access Point for your organisation or you just want more information, you can get in touch with one of the experts here at NetEDI, using the options at the top of the page.
