NetEDI is growing
At NetEDI, we’re extremely proud of the world-class service we provide and how hard our team work to make sure we’re always at the top of our game and doing everything we can for our clients. As we continue to take on new, exciting challenges and more clients, our team must grow accordingly. As a result, we’re excited to announce we’re expanding into a new office space on the 12th March.
We’ve always been based downstairs in our office on Kings Street in Leyland. Luckily for us, the extra space we need is just above us, ready and waiting. Later this year we’ll be moving our marketing and developing teams upstairs, as well as keeping our existing space downstairs.
Why the move?
2017 was a great year for the business. Overall, turnover was up 80% from the previous year which resulted in a huge recruitment drive and us outgrowing our existing space.
It’s also been on the wish-list to create a more laid-back, modern workspace that really reflects who we are as a leading tech company for a while now. As well as making room for new members of the team joining us in 2018, the move will also give Jade – our top-notch designer – the chance to put her creative skills into a redesign of our working environment.
The vision for the space
We’re going to take this opportunity and make sure we create a space that’s great for our team to work in, welcoming for our clients and reflects our personality as a company. Our vision is a multifunctional workspace that’s both conducive to productivity and inspiring.
It will be creative, colourful and flexible, with lots of break-out and meeting spaces. The new breakout areas will provide somewhere for our development and creative teams to meet up for brainstorms and discuss and test our latest web projects.
We also believe in rewarding hard work and allowing the team some time to decompress from the challenge of maintaining the 700+ EDI systems we supply for our clients around the world. In view of this, we’ll have a recreational area, with a games console, football table and pool table. Although some members of the team might have to brush up on their technique to avoid embarrassing themselves. Not mentioning any names, of course. I don’t need to. They know who they are.
And of course, plants. Lots of plants, if some of us have our way. A little extra oxygen and fewer toxins never hurt anyone.
Making our mark
For the past nine years, we’ve been busy making our mark in the tech world and our expansion will reflect that growth, as we make our mark on our new home. For instance, as you climb the main stairs you’ll see a timeline of the growth of the company, from when we were a four-man band in a garage, to our current status as one of the world’s leading providers of EDI.
And you might see a motivational poster, that aligns with our values, hanging outside a director’s office. Something straight to the point and irresistibly inspiring.
We want our new environment to reflect the open, trusting and innovative culture we’ve cultivated here at NetEDI. The open-plan style layout will encourage our team members to collaborate by allowing them to vary where they work and communicate with each other even more than they already do. It’ll also encourage everyone to physically move around, which will hopefully reduce the risks associated with a sedentary working-style and aid creativity at the same time.
We’re going to have a lot of fun designing our new home and we look forward to inviting more of our clients to see exactly how and where their essential business transactions are taken care of. As they say, watch this space.
