The NetEDI Application Programming Interfaces (API) allows ERP/Accounting developers to embed EDI features within their application.
The Network API has features to retrieve details of the network configuration and also monitor traffic on the network – for more information on the Network API visit the Agile ERP page.
The Document API allows features relating to Document Number and Dates to be embedded within the ERP/Accounting system.

For example, imagine your Credit Control department are chasing the Customer for payment of an Invoice that was sent via EDI. The Customer says they haven’t received it. What would be the next step in traditional EDI? Probably to contract the IT team, and ask them to search through the EDI software for the invoice, then get details of the batch, and then either use a web-based VAN management tool (such as NEGrid’s Dashboard {Link this to the Dashboard page}), or contact the EDI/Network provider to follow it up.
How much easier and efficient would it be to simply go into your ERP/Accounting system and go to the standard Customer Transaction Enquiry screen, search for the Document Number (using familiar screens to the user), and then be shown details of the EDI Batch, Date Sent, Delivery Status, Mailbag ID and related Document Numbers that were sent in the same EDI batch? That is what the Document API can do for you.
The Document API is freely available for users of the NEGrid network and is independent of the EDI Translation software that you use. As long as there is a mailbox on the network the Document API can be used to retrieve information.
