What is the NEGrid Network all about?
Powered by the Loren Data Corporation, NEGrid is quite simply the most streamlined Value Added Network in the market place today. The platform offers unrivalled access, monitoring, and service. NetEDI is driving down the costs of trading electronically whilst offering enormous benefits to it's users.
NetEDI opens up access to traditionally closed electronic trading grids, offering ERP and EDI systems the opportunity to build closer links between EDI data and their own internal databases.
Software Vendors (EDI, ERP, CRM)
NetEDI has developed a simple to use set of API functions that provide Software developers with the ability to access an EDI mailbox, send/receive files - even check the status of interconnects and networks before sending a file! No more sending a file without knowing if it will reach the recipient's network. The NetEDIcoms API will give you the flexibility of checking statuses so you can hold onto the file if required. Give control back to the user and ease the burden on your Support team. In fact, together with the NEGrid Network as a Service Control Panel you can allow your clients to become self-sufficient in monitoring their own mailboxes. See the NEGrid brochure for more details. The NetEDIcoms API utilises Web Services allowing easier setup and maintenance over traditional VAN connections.
Can I only use the API to connect to NetEDI?
NEGrid has been designed to utilise the web services architecture, however we are fully aware that not all EDI/ERP Systems would be able to take advantage of this. For a small one-off charge per mailbox we can configure FTP or AS2 access to your mailbox.
How easy is it to use the API?
Using the NetEDIcoms API couldn't be simpler. Built using the .Net Framework, 8 simple to use functions provide all you need to communicate with unlimited number of Trading Partners, on any Network or Protocols. We even provide code snippets for the VB.net and C Sharp languages to help you get up and running in minutes. There is also a downloadable Developer Help file to give you even more information on the API. Alternatively use the online version, Online Developer Help Guide.
Why should I use NetEDI?
Quite simply NetEDI provide an opportunity to embed an EDI Network directly into your software. Expansion is planned for opening up the NetEDIcoms API to allow developers to check interconnect status and Network Statuses amongst other items. Of course, this is already built into the NetEDI Network as a Service Control Panel for your users to access. However, opening up the API to allow developers direct access to the status means that you can embed EDI more tightly to your application than ever before. The NetEDI network can also be used for sending/ and Receiving non-EDI files too. Confidential product information, images, drawings or documents can be exchanged and tracked via the NetEDI network. Not only are the API, and Network as a Service major advantages, but we also promise to dramatically reduce the costs of Trading via EDI Networks.
What advantages are there for using NetEDI over traditional VANS?
- Simple API
- Simple Setup (Little or no Firewall configuration changes required)
- Significantly reduced network costs
- Reduction in Support calls related to Network or Message status
- Self-Servicing for Clients
- Self-Servicing for you - using the Network as a Service Control Panel you will be able to manage Trading Relationships, issue interconnects, request new mailboxes, run traffic reports. Everything you could possibly imagine you would need to manage and support your clients
